Our indoor members' meeting on 2nd September was a full house, with Dave J. kicking things off with an illustrated talk on the varied wildlife of St Lucia, a small but beautifully formed island in the Caribbean.
Next, Mischa and Kev gave us an insight into the exciting plans for Pitsford over the coming years, including a new wader scrape and an accessibility hide, which is already in place and will be commissioned by year end.
Chairman Bob rounded off the evening with an enlightening talk on Fuerteventura, featuring superb photographs of White-banded Digger Bee, Houbara Bustard, African Blue Tit and many other species.
It was an enjoyable evening but with a fairly late finish and with this in mind we may change the format to two speakers for next year with 30-minutes each plus questions.
Please let Neil know if you'd like to present to the Club on any subject, (wildlife related) it doesn't have to be birds!
Photographic Competition

We look forward to seeing you all at the next meeting on 7th October when Jeff Blincow will be giving a talk on Birdwatching in the Andaman Islands. Anyone who has had the pleasure of seeing one of Jeff's presentations will know that it's more than the wildlife seen - we can be sure of an entertaining evening if past talks are anything to go by!
